The Saudi Red Crescent Authority has significantly scaled up its operational readiness for Hajj season 2025, multiplying its field, technical, and human resources to ensure a safe, healthy, and reassuring pilgrimage experience for the Guests of Allah.
This year, SRCA is deploying 7,517 qualified paramedics, along with 212 medical dispatch personnel including specialists, dispatchers, operations staff, and supervisors. The authority also mobilized 633 administrative and logistic support professionals and 56 doctors for advanced medical care.In cooperation with health and security sectors, 9 air ambulances are in service as part of the air medical evacuation system to enhance rapid access and transfer of critical cases from the holy sites and densely populated areas.
SRCA Spokesperson Dr. Taimur Shukrallah Jan stated that the Authority has mobilized its entire EMS fleet, which includes 578 fully equipped EMS vehicles, 80 specialized rapid response units, 9 medical transport buses, and 205 golf carts for use in narrow pathways. Additionally, over 500 electric transport vehiclesincluding electric wheelchairs and cartsare dedicated to supporting the elderly and persons with disabilities.
He emphasized that this years operational plan was developed based on comprehensive studies of crowd movement and pilgrim pathways, leveraging modern technologies for case tracking, performance monitoring, and ensuring immediate response.This effort reflects SRCAs deep commitment to its humanitarian mission and its seamless integration with other agencies to ensure a safe and secure Hajj.
He also highlighted the important role of male and female volunteers, whose impactful presence will support both emergency response and preventive health efforts throughout the season.
Dr. Jan concluded by affirming that SRCA will maintain high readiness levels until the end of Hajj season, continuing to deliver high-quality services in line with the best global standards in emergency and relief operations.
