The Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in the Makkah Region has released its statistics for October 2025, reporting a total of 25,543 calls received by the region’s Command, Control, and Medical Dispatch Center, distributed across the various governorates.
The Authority indicated that medical cases accounted for the highest proportion of total calls, reaching 21,969 cases. Jeddah ranked first with 10,144 calls, followed by the Holy Capital (Makkah) with 8,578 calls, and Taif with 3,247 calls.
Traffic accident reports came second with a total of 3,547 calls, with Jeddah recording the highest number at 1,873 calls, followed by the Holy Capital with 1,083 calls, Taif with 591 calls, in addition to 27 other miscellaneous reports.
The SRCA emphasized its commitment to enhancing emergency response efficiency and reducing response times by improving coordination with drivers, urging them to give way to ambulances during emergency operations and to avoid crowding or following them, as such behaviors can negatively affect response speed and the saving of lives.
The Authority noted that the Makkah Region includes 19 emergency sectors supported by 98 ambulance centers operating 24/7. This includes 24 centers in Taif across four sectors, 36 centers in Jeddah under seven sectors, and 38 centers in the Holy Capital across eight sectors, in addition to field deployment points distributed across all governorates according to operational demand. All centers operate with qualified medical teams including doctors, specialists, and emergency medical technicians.
The SRCA also highlighted its advanced ambulance fleet equipped with the latest medical technologies and devices, including fully equipped ambulances, 4×4 vehicles, motorcycles, and golf carts, enhancing its readiness to respond to disasters, crises, and various emergency cases.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority urged citizens and residents to request emergency services through the 997 hotline or via the “Asefni” app, which allows precise location identification, thereby speeding up the arrival of emergency teams and providing timely assistance. The Authority wished everyone continued health and safety.
