The Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah region has approved the operational plan for the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 1445 H to facilitate the visitation to the Prophet's Mosque.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, the branch director, explained that the plan aims to provide emergency medical services to visitors of the Prophet's Mosque and the roads leading to Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah. The plan will continue until the fifth day of Shawwal.
He noted that the plan, executed by more than 690 employees from various categories and positions, includes operating four advanced medical care units in the courtyards of the Prophet's Mosque during peak times. It also covers the central areas of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah and the roads leading to it during the rest of the day. This plan is implemented by 40 ambulance centers in the region, housing more than 60 advanced ambulance teams equipped with the latest equipment, including 10 medical care teams during each shift, in addition to readiness to provide air ambulance service. The ambulance services at the Prophet's Mosque are intensified daily to cover Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers, as well as increasing efforts during the last ten nights of Ramadan, the 27th night, and covering the Eid prayer and visitation.
During this blessed month of Ramadan, the operational capacity at the Prophet's Mosque and its surrounding areas will be increased in coordination with the number of worshippers as needed. Additionally, approximately 1100 volunteers will be working by being present at the Prophet's Mosque and providing medical coverage in all its sections and courtyards around the clock, equipped with the necessary training courses before the start of the Umrah season.
The plan includes a medical transfer center, a command and control room for the region with more than 60 staff members, relying entirely on the technical systems of the authority. These systems start from receiving the report either through a call to 997, or through the Asefni application, which contains 9 languages, or through the Tawakkalna application. Then, the report is passed to the nearest ambulance teams using the electronic paramedic program, where the case is immediately assessed and treated, and then transferred to the nearest hospital. The complete medical report is provided to the health facility electronically, and all aspects of the report are monitored by the field command through the electronic field commander program to issue directives to all field workers as quickly as possible.
