His Excellency the Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, ​Fahad bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel​, discussed areas of mutual cooperation with Kate Forbes, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and ways to further develop the longstanding partnership between the Authority and the Federation in humanitarian fields.

This discussion took place during a meeting between His Excellency and Kate Forbes, accompanied by her delegation, during her current visit to the Kingdom. Upon her arrival, she and her delegation were received by Dr. Jalal bin Mohammed Al-Owaisi, President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, who accompanied her on a visit to the Minister of Health.

After being welcomed by Dr. Al-Owaisi, the IFRC President visited the headquarter of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Riyadh. During the visit, Dr. Al-Owaisi provided an overview of the Authority's activities in emergency medical services and humanitarian work, including a tour of the disaster and emergency vehicles. He also highlighted the humanitarian role of the IFRC in providing aid and coordinating with organizations focused on alleviating the suffering of people in disaster-affected countries.

The IFRC President expressed her appreciation, stating, "The Saudi Red Crescent Authority is a key partner of the IFRC in many humanitarian fields within the Kingdom," and praised the Authority's diverse emergency and humanitarian efforts.
