


SRCA Air Ambulance Rescues Camel Herder Injured in the Heart of the Desert in Al Qassim Region
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Al Qassim region, through its air ambulance service, responded to a report about an injured expatriate camel herder in a desert area north of the region. This incident highlights the Authority's full readiness to provide emergency medical services at any location and for all beneficiaries without discrimination, utilizing all means necessary to ensure rapid response and reduce arrival time to help save lives.
In detail, the Operations Control at the Red Crescent branch in Al Qassim received an emergency call from a citizen at 1:25 PM on Saturday (October 26, 2024) about an injured camel herder in the desert near the Al-Buaitha area at north of the region. Immediately, a team from the Qubba EMS Center was dispatched, providing the necessary first aid to the injured man and identifying a safe spot in the desert for the air ambulance to land.
To ensure the camel herder’s quick evacuation to the nearest healthcare facility for medical care, first aid was administered promptly, and he was swiftly transferred to Buraidah Central Hospital for further treatment.
Regarding the incident, the Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent branch in Al Qassim, Khalid bin Saleh Al Khudhur, affirmed that EMS services, through ground and air ambulance teams, are available around the clock without delay and without discrimination —whether within cities, on highways, or in remote, hard-to-reach areas.
He emphasized that the Authority dedicates its efforts to providing emergency medical services to all in need, accessible via the unified emergency number “997,” the “Asefni” app, or through the “Tawakkalna Services” app on smart devices. This commitment is part of the Authority’s mission to deliver the highest standard of medical emergency services using advanced digital and technical solutions, ensuring the safety of both citizens and residents.
