Dr. Jalal bin Mohammed Al-Owaisi, President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, welcomed Ms. Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, on her official visit to the Kingdom, aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in humanitarian and relief fields.

During her visit, Ms. Spoljaric toured several humanitarian and EMS facilities managed by the Authority, where she reviewed the latest advancements and innovations in humanitarian and emergency serivces. Her tour also included a visit to the Authority's center of the National Emergency Medical Services Command and Control. A briefing was provided on the Permanent Committee for International Humanitarian Law, highlighting national achievements in upholding and implementing international humanitarian law, and discussing joint efforts to deliver humanitarian aid in disaster and crisis-affected areas worldwide.

The current meetings are discussing arrangements to facilitate restoring family links for detainees and missing persons, contributing to alleviating the suffering of those affected. This visit reflects both parties’ commitment to advancing humanitarian efforts and supporting impacted communities.

Ms. Spoljaric emphasized the importance of the partnership with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, highlighting its key role as a partner in supporting humanitarian efforts, both within the Kingdom and at the regional and international levels.
