As part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enhance international humanitarian cooperation and support vulnerable communities, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority provided a modern, fully equipped EMS vehicles with the latest medical technologies to the Senegalese Red Cross Society. This initiative aligns with building the capacities of national societies in need and supporting humanitarian activities that embody the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
Representing Saudi Arabia at the donation handover ceremony in Senegal was the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Senegal, Gambia, and Cape Verde, H.E. ambassador Saad Abdullah Al-Nofaia. The event was attended by several notable figures, including the President of the Senegalese Red Cross Society and representatives from the Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs, and Health in Senegal.
From international organizations, attendees included Mr. Jean Nicolas, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mission for Central and West Africa, and Mr. Alexandre Claudon, Director of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Office. Representatives from several national societies active in Senegal, including the Italian and Spanish Red Cross, also participated.
During the ceremony, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian principles and providing aid to those in need without discrimination. The Authority emphasized the importance of this support in strengthening joint efforts to deliver urgent medical care and save lives. This initiative highlights Saudi Arabia’s leading role in supporting international humanitarian initiatives and fostering cooperation among national societies within the framework of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
