Yesterday, Monday, December 2, 2024, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Al Madinah region held a training workshop titled "Restoring Family Links in Disasters" in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross. The workshop took place at Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah Hotel in Al Madinah and spanned two days, targeting professionals working in family reunification across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The workshop aimed to enhance participants' readiness to address the humanitarian challenges arising from disasters. It focused on developing the skills needed for effective field responses and ensuring the continuity of family connections in the most challenging circumstances. The event emphasized the importance of collaboration between humanitarian organizations to strengthen joint efforts and achieve integrated emergency responses.
Key topics discussed included emergency preparedness mechanisms, prioritizing family link restoration, and strategies for addressing field challenges during disasters. The program also featured practical training sessions designed to enhance participants' skills in responding promptly and effectively to humanitarian cases.
