As part of strengthening international cooperation and exchanging humanitarian expertise, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority has signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation for the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries to implement the "Seconded Employee" project. This initiative represents a significant step toward building capabilities and developing national competencies in the humanitarian field.
The project aims to enable SRCA personnel to work alongside the ICRC Regional Delegation, contributing to enriching expertise, transferring knowledge, developing first aid skills, and improving the quality of emergency services locally and internationally. Additionally, the project seeks to enhance volunteer skills and increase community preparedness to handle emergencies, aligning with the Authority’s vision to advance humanitarian work according to the highest global standards.
The signing of this memorandum underscores Authority’s commitment to its leading role in supporting international humanitarian initiatives and solidifying Saudi Arabia’s position as a key supporter of global humanitarian efforts. It also reflects the strong partnership within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and paves the way for greater integration and enhanced joint humanitarian efforts.
Notably, this initiative aligns with Authority’s strategy to invest in and prepare human resources to adapt to global changes in the humanitarian sector. It also supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by enhancing quality of life and promoting sustainable humanitarian work.
