The Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Al Qassim Region, Mr. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Khudhur, received today (Sunday) in his office the young girl, Sara bint Abdullah Al-Rasheed, to present her with a Certificate of Appreciation and an honorary “Paramedic” card from His Excellency the Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, Mr. Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel. This recognition was in appreciation of her quick and commendable action in calling the emergency number (997) to report her mother’s health condition in Unaizah Governorate, as Sara was alone at home without any adult family member present. She was able to follow the initial life-saving instructions provided by the Operations Control Center to assist her mother during the critical golden minutes, helping alleviate her mother’s symptoms until the ambulance arrived promptly and transported her to the hospital for the necessary treatment.
The awarding of the certificate and honorary card to Sara Al-Rasheed came in fulfillment of the promise made by His Excellency the Minister of Health during his previous visit to the Qassim Region when he met with her.
Mr. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Khudhur, Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent in the Qassim Region, stated that Sara received a training course and an awareness lecture from the Women’s Training and Education Department on how to handle emergency medical situations and contact the emergency number (997) to request help when needed.
He added: “This recognition from His Excellency the Minister of Health is not surprising, as it serves to encourage young boys and girls and their families to raise awareness and knowledge about first aid. This aligns with one of the key humanitarian objectives pursued by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority through community training and education, supported by its leadership, to uphold the principle of ‘Safety First’ and to protect the lives of citizens and residents.”
