The Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in Al-Jouf has launched the first phase of the “Mua’ath” Project, aimed at enhancing emergency readiness in governmental and private workplaces, reducing health risks, and improving response times to emergencies. The project was introduced in memory of Mua’ath, a citizen who passed away during his work due to a sudden cardiac arrest, with the objective of fostering a culture of emergency preparedness and safety in workplaces.
As part of this initiative, the branch trained staff members of the Tamkeen Technical Institute. A specialized team from the Red Crescent delivered a training program covering first aid fundamentals, including how to handle fainting, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and provide aid for various injuries. The program also included training on the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), along with practical applications to ensure participants fully understood the correct response in emergencies. More than 50 participants benefited from the training, praising its importance in enhancing their first aid skills.
The project also includes training employees in first aid, establishing an “Emergency Response Pathway” to ensure rapid delivery of emergency services to urgent cases, and encouraging organizations to provide and install Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in workplaces to maintain effective emergency readiness.
Dr. Mamdouh bin Nahi Al-Ruwaili, Director General of the Al-Jouf branch, affirmed that the project contributes to fostering safe work environments in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, stressing the importance of integrating occupational safety systems with first aid measures to protect lives.
