The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Riyadh region has achieved 100% of its target for the second phase of the “School Paramedic” Program, launched in early December, training a total of 2,880 participants through 136 training courses across all phases.
Sultan Al-Harbi, Director of Training and Community Awareness at the Riyadh branch, explained that the training program was designed in line with the Authority’s vision of saving lives and providing emergency medical services to all segments of society. It aims to enhance response speed and its positive impact on patient outcomes, as well as reduce complications before emergency teams arrive. By the end of the program, trainees are able to manage emergency cases such as cardiac arrest, airway obstruction, and bleeding, and to provide prompt and correct assistance to improve survival chances and safeguard the lives of those at risk.
He noted that the training program is part of the integration project between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, encompassing the training of the entire school community on basic first aid skills across all educational stages. The program targeted the training of 2,880 male and female teachers in the Riyadh education sector over a three-month period, and the target was achieved in record time.
