In anticipation of rainfall and changing weather conditions across the Al-Jouf region, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority has announced an elevated state of readiness for its emergency teams and field operations, under the directive of the branch’s Director General, Dr. Mamdouh bin Nahi Al-Ruwaili.
Dr. Al-Ruwaili stated that the preparedness plan includes the deployment of 14 ambulance teams, 2 advanced care teams, and 1 remote area response unit, in addition to backup support teams ready to respond to urgent needs. The goal is to ensure rapid and effective response to any emergencies arising from the weather conditions.
He emphasized the importance of caution among citizens and residents, urging them to follow preventive safety guidelines—such as avoiding excessive speed while driving to reduce the risk of skidding, and steering clear of low-lying areas and flood-prone spots—for their own safety and that of others.
Dr. Al-Ruwaili also called on the public to contact the Red Crescent via the emergency number 997 when in need of emergency medical services, to ensure a quick response and timely support.
These preparations reflect the Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s commitment to maintaining a high level of readiness to deal with emergencies, thereby supporting community safety and the continuity of ambulance services under all conditions.
