The emergency teams of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Al-Qassim region announced that they have received 1,514 emergency reports since the beginning of this year’s Ramadan.
Khalid bin Saleh Al-Khudhur, Director General of the Red Crescent branch in Al-Qassim, explained that the branch aims—through its field teams—to achieve rapid response times in receiving and handling various reports. This is done via the emergency number 997, the "Asefni" (Help Me) app, and the "Emergency Request" feature in the "Tawakkalna" app. Once a report is received by the operations room, it is processed and referred to the appropriate emergency teams.
He pointed out that the service is provided by medical crews consisting of paramedics, ambulance specialists, and emergency medical technicians. These teams are deployed from 33 ambulance centers affiliated with the
authority in the region, along with 35 fully equipped ambulance units utilizing the latest technologies. Additionally, air ambulance services are available to transport cases to the nearest medical facility.
He further noted that the operations room is staffed 24/7 by qualified personnel who not only dispatch emergency teams but also guide callers through basic life-saving steps that can help preserve lives until the emergency teams arrive and take over the case.
