As part of its humanitarian mission and firm commitment to the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority continues to provide Restoring Family Links (RFL) services. These services aim to preserve individuals’ connections with their families during times of conflict, disasters, detention, and separation.
From 2003 until mid-2025, more than 13,770 individuals have benefited from these services, which include the exchange of family messages, phone and video calls, and tracing requests for missing persons inside and outside the Kingdom.
In the first half of 2025, 65 family messages were exchanged in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), along with 3 phone calls and 14 video calls between detainees and their families. In addition, tracing requests were received and documented.
The Authority affirms that these efforts are carried out in direct coordination with the ICRC and in accordance with the highest humanitarian and human rights standards — reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting human dignity in all circumstances.
