His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region and Chairman of the High Committee for Traffic Safety in the region, inaugurated the Traffic Accident Monitoring Center in Riyadh City today at Qasr Al-Hukm. During the meeting, the Prince highlighted the leadership's support and commitment to ensuring safety and security in the Riyadh region. He praised the efforts of the Riyadh Municipality and those responsible for the Center, noting that Riyadh is on the brink of a bright future that requires mitigating negative factors such as traffic accidents.
Prince Mohammed stressed the importance of collaboration among all relevant sectors to support the Center. Following this, Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of the Riyadh Region, mentioned that the committee overseeing the Center has focused on ensuring that its outcomes are clear, sustainable, and field-oriented with measurable standards and numbers. He emphasized that the work is being institutionalized to ensure its continuity for many years to come.
The Center includes strategic locations throughout Riyadh City, aiming to improve safety at key sites within the city limits. Field visits are conducted to identify problems causing high-risk areas at intersections and road segments in Riyadh. Recommendations are then made to address these issues in traffic safety reports and engineering designs.
The meeting was attended by several officials, including Acting Assistant Secretary of Development Affairs and Secretary of the High Committee for Traffic Safety, Engineer Salman Al-Dhala’an, Assistant CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, Engineer Fahd bin Abdulrahman bin Saleh, Vice President of King Saud University for Projects, Dr. Abdullah Al-Suqair, Deputy President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and Director of the Authority’s Riyadh branch, Dr. Fahd Al-Hajjaj, Assistant Traffic Director of the Region, Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Dur’an, Director General of the Ministry of Health's Riyadh branch, Dr. Hassan Al-Shahrani, and Commander of the Special Forces for Road Security in the region, Brigadier General Fahd Al-Huqbani.
