The number of volunteering hours for the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Makkah region during the year 2023 amounted to 300,877 volunteering hours. The authority provided 2,824 volunteering opportunities, ranging from providing ambulance services to visitors of the Holy Kaaba and pilgrims and worshippers in the area of the Grand Mosque, in addition to participating in national events, international days, exhibitions, sports events, and other activities in the region.

The authority also conducted various awareness campaigns in malls and participated in cleaning the seabed and beaches in Jeddah, Al Qunfudhah, and tourist areas in Taif province. Additionally, it implemented several courses in first aid to train volunteers.

The total number of volunteers reached 9,628, including 3,875 males and 5,753 females. The volunteer medical staff includes various specialties, including consultants, general physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and emergency medical technicians.

Dr. Mustafa Baljoon, the General Director of the Authority in Makkah region, emphasized the authority's commitment to utilizing all human resources willing to join volunteer work to drive development and achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership in realizing the goals of Vision 2030, aiming to reach one million volunteers contributing to nation-building on all fronts.

He highlighted the authority's efforts in developing its volunteers by organizing numerous specialized courses and providing them with the necessary skills aligned with the authority's mission and work.

He explained that the authority offers many volunteer opportunities to individuals in various fields, including health, humanitarian, sports, environmental, and awareness.

The authority attracts volunteers from the residents of the Mecca region to benefit from their efforts, energy, and humanitarian contributions through the volunteer platform affiliated with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority.
