The ambulance teams provide their services through 33 ambulance centers during the blessed month of Ramadan around the clock, including Iftar hours, where paramedics perform their duties and responsibilities in responding to cases requiring medical and ambulance services.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) accompanied the Red Crescent teams during their fieldwork and observed their response to calls, their on-site duties, and their provision of the best ambulance services.
The Director of the Command and Control Center at the Qassim branch of the Saudi Red Crescent, Sabhan Al-Sabhan, affirmed that the plan being implemented involves about 400 field employees, including paramedics and healthcare workers, in various centers affiliated with the branch. This plan includes the operation of 75 ready ambulance vehicles to provide service, as well as off-road vehicles equipped to receive calls in remote areas and carry out fieldwork and response to calls. More than 35 advanced ambulance teams, each with 65 paramedics for medical care during each shift, are included in the plan. He also confirmed the complete readiness to provide air ambulance service through a fully equipped helicopter covering the Qassim region. The branch's operational hours in preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan amounted to 768 operational hours.
The preparations also included the registration of 4580 volunteers in the volunteering platform in Qassim to carry out their voluntary work and support the activities of the Saudi Red Crescent personnel in the region, providing ambulance and humanitarian services.
The plan aims to provide emergency medical services for critical cases in remote areas that require emergency medical intervention or rapid transfer to the nearest health facility, as well as intensifying ambulance teams in some locations with high density of worshipers during Taraweeh prayers and Qiyam prayers during Ramadan, which are determined in coordination with relevant authorities.
