The Training and Community Education Department of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Makkah region implemented during the past year 2023, 814 training courses for community members, including government, military, and educational sectors, in addition to numerous companies and commercial institutions.

The number of beneficiaries from the courses exceeded 64,161, including 15,351 women, while the number of beneficiaries from school students reached 16,115 students from 70 schools in the region.

Through training centers housing a select group of trainers within the Authority in Jeddah, the Holy Capital city and Taif. The Authority ensured the qualification and training of all community members in first aid through the Life Ambassador program for both males and females.

The Authority provided 362 awareness lectures, aimed at informing community members about how to follow the steps to deal with emergencies and correcting some misconceptions about first aid. This falls within the framework of the social responsibility undertaken by the Authority to raise awareness about first aid and the necessity of familiarity with emergency medical procedures needed to address both medical and injury emergencies, as first aid greatly contributes to saving lives and supporting injuries before reaching the hospital.

Trainees are familiarized with the services provided by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, the correct method of reporting through the emergency service number 997 to request an ambulance or seek medical advice, and how to use the "Asefni" application.

At the end of the course, each trainee receives a certified certificate from the Authority, where all community members can obtain specialized medical first aid training courses and the Life Ambassador course by registering on the Authority's website "mutaaheb Platform."
