The Saudi Red Crescent Authority, headed by the President of the 46th session of the General Assembly of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO) Dr. Jalal Al-Owaisi, concluded the 46th session and handed over the presidency of the 47th session to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), Ambassador Yousef Al-Khater; under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and in the presence of the Minister of State for International Cooperation of Qatar Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, QRCS will host the 47th Session of the General Assembly of the Arab Red Cross and Red Crescent Organization to be held on 5-6 June 2023. 

On the sidelines of the meetings, Dr. Al Owaisi met with the Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross - ICRC, Mr. Mamadou Sow, H.E Ambassador Dr. Ali Mahmoud Bouhedma, President of the International Islamic Red Crescent Committee, and ICIC Executive Director Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al-Asbali. During the meetings, discussions were held on aspects of mutual interest between the organizations and the Authority, and the humanitarian situation at both regional and international levels was discussed. Several bilateral meetings were also held with a number of associations and humanitarian organizations participating in the General Authority of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization meeting.
