SRCA conducted 3 different training drills this Thursday with the General Directorate of Civil Defense and Saudi Railway Company at the Holy Capital city and Arafat sacred area as a part of preparation plan for Hajj season 2022 to ensure readiness of ambulatory teams to deal with emergency cases that might occur during Hajj season.

The first training conducted in Makkah for a fire incident inside a building tower resulting in accumulation of intensive smoke and a stampede among pilgrims with panic led to 27 injuries and 4 death.

Such a training drill is an example of massive and advanced incidents that require applying the general emergency plan in Hajj in participation of every related entities led by the General Directorate of Civil Defense to encounter as well applying support plans in between other Hajj areas.

The second training drill was conducted with the Saudi Railway Company for an evacuation of passengers inside a train with traction power deficit. The emergency plan included towing the train from Arafat to Muzdalifah metro stations and rapid dealing with injuries and treatment of various emergency cases as well transferring some cases to hospital prepared to receive pilgrim.

The third training drill represented a complete out of service trains in Arafat after a wreckage in traction system which caused a crowded area with passengers led to number of emergency cases. SAR company executed emergency plan to deal with technical issues while ambulatory teams responded to one heart attack case and 11 injuries in addition to transferring critical cases.

SRCA, by conducting these training drills, aim to avoid risks that could affect safety of pilgrims and public and private properties as well inspecting readiness of our human potentials and vehicles allocated to deal with incidents and restore conditions in addition to raise level of coordination and efforts made with relevant authorities to ensure that pilgrims will perform Hajj rituals in safety and security.
