Dr. Jalal Al Owaisi, President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, confirmed that today we celebrate the Flag Day, a celebration instituted by a Royal Decree to symbolize the unity and strength of the country celebrated on the 11th of March every year. This day is of great significance and has been firmly established as a day to celebrate the national flag and all that it represents.
The significance of National Flag Day has been emphasized by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may Allah protect them. This day serves as a reminder of the nation's unity and strength since the establishment in 1727 and for the flag's symbolism which is deeply rooted in the country's commitment to justice and defending its lands, from the word of monotheism and the symbol of the sword in the green color of the flag to represent prosperity and development.
Dr. Al Owaisi also noted that this day serves as a reminder of the great historical event when King Abdulaziz, may Allah have mercy on him, approved the flag in its current form, which will continue to fly proudly over this blessed land.
Dr. Al Owaisi concluded by praying to Allah his Almighty to protect the Kingdom, cherish its flag, and preserve security and safety and protect the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince.
