SRCA project of Air Ambulance successfully achieved over 703 flight hours since the reactivation in November 2022 up to the end of the month of September where it responded to 342 emergency cases received in SRCA operation center or Medical referrals Center of the Ministry of Health.
The total number of emergency cases transferred to hospitals and other specialized medical institutes until the end of September was 282 cases.
SRCA spokesman, Abdulaziz Al Suwaine, stated that the SRCA air ambulance project delivers a thorough service for transferring cases among medical institutes in direct coordination with M.O.H Medical referrals center in addition to responding to emergency cases on highways as well crowded areas that ambulance vehicles might encounter difficulty in quickly reaching the incident.
Al Suwaine also stated that air ambulances in service come in 2 types: two fixed wing air ambulances achieved 483 flight hours during the last 7 months transferred 216 emergency cases in different times of the day and including 78 emergency cases for infants and children.
The second type contains 3 helicopters achieved 220 flight hours for the same period of time serving 126 emergency cases during the day times.
He indicated that SRCA is striving to expand the geographical coverage of service to reach all over the Kingdom within the upcoming time where the air ambulance operate in coordination and cooperation of related entities; as SRCA fleet of air ambulances will have a continuous increase in number for the Authority to be able to deliver its services for every location and environment.
