SRCA spokesman, Abdulaziz Al Suwaine, stated that an ambulatory team of the Authority succeeded in restoring the heartbeats of a 54-year-old Indonesian pilgrim inside the area of the Holy Grand Mosque in Makkah, using an AED device after his heart and breathing stopped and restoring his heartbeat successfully.
"The ambulatory center of As Salam gate of the Holy Grand Mosque received an emergency call at 09:15 in the morning for an unconscious patient located at King Abdulaziz gate, a specialized medical team responded rapidly with an electrical vehicle to the location to find a 45-year-old Indonesian man with no breath nor heartbeats" Al Suwaine added.
The ambulatory team immediately initiated CPR and plugged in pads on the patient to show after the diagnosis that he suffered cardiac arrhythmias that required an electric shock. Thanks to Allah, his almighty, the patient regained his pulse after the first shock, as the timing for the arrival of the ambulatory team was at an early stage of the incident and the availability of an AED device was considered as the main reasons for saving his life with Allah's willing.
After a further medical check on the patient, he was transferred to Ajyad General Hospital for follow up on the case.
