The authority affirmed that it successfully implemented all plans for the presence of ground and air ambulance teams in the region, especially in the Holy Mosque and its surrounding areas, covering all movements of pilgrims and visitors, and providing all ambulance services through the operational ambulance teams comprising more than 1,000 paramedics, emergency specialists, and doctors, in addition to 18 medical control physicians, 5,400 volunteers, totaling 65,000 volunteer hours covering various medical, ambulance, and technical specialties.
It explained that it conducted more than 47,000 ambulance trips, with medical cases (respiratory, diabetes, and fainting) being the most requested, followed by accident cases. During these trips, the centers in the Holy Capital handled 33,561 cases, with Jeddah coming second with 10,193 cases, and Taif third with 3,882 cases.
It also mentioned that aerial ambulance services in the region executed 32.5 flight hours, transporting 14 critical cases rapidly to the nearest medical facility, supported by a comprehensive fleet of vehicles comprising more than 80 ambulances equipped with the latest medical technologies and devices, 150 electric scooters, motorcycles, and bicycles, 24 golf carts, 49 defibrillators, and 15 LUCAS devices for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, in addition to a fleet of specialized response vehicles, events and crises management in the field, and transferring all incidents via audiovisual means to the command and control center and medical transfer.
It's worth noting that the Saudi Red Crescent Authority receives reports through the number 997 and through the "Asefni" application, which allows users to create a report through smartphones, call for an ambulance team, check the status of the report, track its progress, and enables ambulance teams to locate the report, provides information about nearby health facilities, emergency numbers, and many other features.
