The delegation, headed by H.E Dr. Jalal bin Mohammed Al Owaisi, concluded its journey participating in IFRC meetings at the 23rd session of the General Assembly in Geneva. The journey resulted in winning membership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by SRCA on the IFRC board of members on behalf of Asia and Pacific region.

The meetings that the Saudi delegation attended have discussed number of urgent issues in the international humanitarian field, on top of them climate and environment chapter for humanitarian organizations, which was signed by the Kingdom during the session and confirmed thier support to its great humanitarian objectives to boost group works to promote responding to climate and environmental crisis.

SRCA started preparations for IFRC membership a year before when the royal approval granted. Various SRCA departments collaborated to plan for the nomination process and seeking winning potentials in coordination with GCC Countries to unify position and highlight topics to concentrate on to ensure collecting votes of representatives of member countries. The Authority also prepared a thorough file to present the history and the current development, along with the unlimited support by the wise government that instructed to deliver whatever required for nomination of the Kingdom in a manner that suits its international position.
The Authority had a delegation consisted of high-level expertise headed by H.E president, Dr. Jalal bin Mohammed Al Owaisi conducted meetings with over 80 national societies and another 70 meetings with senior officials and held a banquet lunch arranged for more than 90 delegations from international societies and organizations.

During those meetings, the delegation discussed many important issues in the meantime at the international humanitarian level and was able to deliver the Kingdom's point of view on regard those issues as well our vision to develop the humanitarian and relief works to overcome the current global status of tensions that affected millions of people around the world. The Authority succeeded in having the votes required to win the membership of IFRC board of members on behalf Asia and Pacific region and to gain trust of the public assembly.
