The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Al Medina region has begun executing its operational plan for Hajj season of 1445 H across the entire region, following the approved guidelines. Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Zahrani, the branch director, highlighted that the plan focuses on providing urgent medical and ambulance services to visitors of the Prophet's Mosque and the roads leading to Al Medina, continuing until the 15th of Muharram 1446 H.
The plan involves 45 ambulance centers in the region, equipped with 71 advanced ambulance teams supported by the latest equipment. More than 690 employees from various classifications and roles will implement the plan, with full readiness for air ambulance services.
Dr. Al-Zahrani mentioned that this year will see an increase in operational capacity at the Prophet's Mosque and its surrounding courtyards, corresponding to the number of worshippers as needed. Additionally, around 500 volunteers will provide continuous ambulance coverage in all sections and courtyards of the mosque, fully trained according to requirements before Hajj season begins.
The plan also includes the region's control and command room with dispatch and medical guidance services. It starts with receiving reports via the 997 hotline or the "Asefni" app, which supports nine languages. The report is then forwarded to the nearest ambulance teams through the electronic paramedic program. The teams respond, assess, and transport the patient to the nearest hospital, providing a complete electronic report to the medical facility. The control room monitors all report details through the electronic field commander program, issuing directives to all field workers as quickly as possible.
