The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Makkah region has completed its preparations to provide emergency medical services to the visitors of the Grand Mosque during the blessed month of Ramadan in the holy capital.
Dr. Mustafa bin Jameel Baljoon, the director of the authority's branch in the Makkah region, emphasized that the plan included more than 35 ambulance centers, including six ambulance centers in the Grand Mosque, 21 internal centers, and eight external centers equipped with more than 80 ambulances equipped with the latest medical devices and equipment, and with a workforce of about 887 employees.
The authority has also allocated seven disaster response vehicles, 150 bicycles, scooters, and 10 motorcycles, in addition to 14 golf carts to facilitate the transport of emergency cases within the Grand Mosque courtyards.
The preparations included the participation of 900 volunteers from the Saudi Red Crescent Authority to serve the visitors of the Grand Mosque during the blessed month.
The authority's plan aims to early readiness to serve the guests of the Most Merciful and to utilize all material and human resources to achieve the optimal emergency response through its emergency medical and ambulance services, covering the Grand Mosques and surrounding courtyards during the month of Ramadan, activating the volunteering system and benefiting from the nation's young potentials to contribute to providing emergency medical services during this season within the Grand Mosque.
The plan also aims to provide emergency medical services for critical cases among the visitors of the Grand Mosque that may occur during the performance of the rituals and require emergency medical intervention or rapid transfer to the nearest health facility in the mosque, as well as intensifying ambulance teams in some locations with high density of worshippers during the last ten days of Ramadan.
