The emergency teams of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and its affiliated centers in the holy capital city responded to more than 7,183 cases during the first week of Ramadan, 1445 H. The emergency cases varied between accidents and medical conditions, with the number of direct accident cases reaching 1,119, while the number of medical cases reached 6,064. The emergency teams efficiently and professionally responded to these cases. In the holy capital, the authority provides 38 ambulance centers that operate around the clock. These centers are equipped with the latest medical equipment and staffed with teams of doctors, specialists, and paramedics; in addition to golf carts, motorcycles, air ambulances, scooters, and disaster response vehicles for multiple injuries, which operate in the central area of the Holy Mosque.
The Saudi Red Crescent Society's operations room in the holy capital receives reports through the number 997 and via the "Asefni" application on smart devices. The application allows users to create reports using their smartphones to summon the emergency teams and track their progress. It also enables the teams to locate the report's site, identify the nearby healthcare facility for the user, provide emergency numbers, relief languages, and many other features.
