During a meeting at his office in Buraidah city today, His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Al Qassim Region, was briefed on the details of the "Blind Rescuer" program, which focuses on training visually impaired individuals from the community on first aid skills. Accompanied by the Director of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in the Qassim Region, Khalid Al Khudair, along with the team involved in implementing the training program.
His Royal Highness emphasized the importance of such qualitative training programs, including all segments of society, including the visually impaired, in the region. He pointed out that activating such programs underscores the Saudi Red Crescent Authority's commitment to providing advanced training programs and awareness lectures that contribute to increasing societal awareness and education in preserving lives, managing crises, and dealing with emergencies, God forbid.
His Royal Highness, the Governor of Al Qassim Region, listened to a brief explanation from the Director of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the region about the "Blind Rescuer" program. Through it, visually impaired trainees learn the correct ways to provide first aid in critical situations, to contribute to saving the lives of the injured and minimizing the possible side effects of emergencies. This includes promptly summoning emergency responders so they can administer aid and continue treatment, as well as how to handle common emergency situations correctly. The training involves practical exercises on training dummies, how to report and communicate with the Authority's operations room via the emergency number (997) or through the Asefni application or a distress call, and how to follow medical and first aid instructions until medical and emergency teams arrive at the scene.
