The Permanent Committee of International Humanitarian Law concluded on Thursday the specialized course titled "Introduction in International Humanitarian Law" in Holiday Inn Riyadh. The course was attended by group of elites in this field from the Kingdom and Arab Countries.
On behalf of the president of SRCA, the secretary general of the committee honored the participants and awarded certificates to the attendances.
The specialized course discussed several significant topics such as " International Humanitarian Law in Islam", " The concept of international humanitarian law and its historical development, sources and principles" and " The international organizations concerned with the International Humanitarian Law and their roles - armed conflicts (international and non-international)". The course also discussed " Scope of application of the International Humanitarian Law and execution mechanism" and " Examples of international experiences and practices in the field of International Humanitarian Law.
This course targeted number of military and government entities to raise level of awareness regarding the International Humanitarian Law and its importance in armed conflicts, to provide those interested in this field with knowledge of its historical development and other related fields in international organizations concerned of the international humanitarian law.
Worth to mention that Permanent Committee of the International Humanitarian Law is a national committee concerned of the international humanitarian law and its application in the Kingdom and its related agreements and resolutions that joined by the Kingdom. Act performed by the committee in these activities of the International Humanitarian Law demonstrates the commitment and attention given by the Kingdom in respecting the International Humanitarian Law and applying its rules on various levels.
