As part of the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the development and reconstruction in Yemen with main objectives are raising the efficiency of the health sector and medical services and improving the quality of health care provided to the Yemeni brothers, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, in cooperation with the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program in Yemen, has enhanced the quality of health and humanitarian services for the brothers in Yemen. The Authority handed over 30 vehicles designated for providing emergency medical care, including 25 ambulances and 5 rapid response vehicles with high medical equipment, at the Authority's headquarters.
Ambulance vehicles will head from Riyadh to the Al-Wadiah border crossing to be transferred to the Yemeni cities and governorates, which will include the governorates of Aden, Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Marib, Shabwa, and Taiz.
The Assistant President for Shared Services confirmed that a course has been prepared provided by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority that can be attended remotely to qualify ambulance drivers.
This donation follows the signing of a memorandum of joint cooperation between the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction in Yemen in
Riyadh in early April, in the presence of the Assistant President for Shared Services, Mr. Rayan Azhari, and His Highness Director General of the General Department of International Cooperation, Prince Abdullah bin Faisal Al Said.
