H.E president of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, Dr. Jalal bin Mohammed Al Owaisi, commended the journey of GCC Red Crescent societies and authorities that crowned with success and achievements making them well distinguished in the arena of the international humanitarian works.
SRCA spokesperson Abdulaziz Al Suwaine stated on the occasion of GCC red crescent day, which coincidence 23rd of October each year, that the president of SRCA praised the humanitarian and relief efforts delivered by GCC red crescent authorities and societies that aim to help those in need within the whole world and alleviate the suffering as well spread peace and goodness.
He also added that GCC authorities and societies have always been keen to coordinate their efforts and share information and logistical expertise, generate policies that help develop and spread humanitarian work widely, and establish humanitarian projects that will help various groups in need of support, such as refugees, displaced persons, victims and others.
It is worth mentioning that the Authority participated in a number of GCC events related to humanitarian and relief work in 2022 that were held both within the Kingdom and other GCC countries, such as the GCC workshop to prepare media cadres that was held in Kuwait. Also, the Authority participated in Dubai International Relief and Development Exhibition and Conference "Dihad". The Authority hosted the meeting of senior officials of the Red Crescent bodies and societies of the GCC countries in Riyadh, as well as organizing the eighteenth meeting of the Committee of their Excellencies, leaders of the Red Crescent authorities and societies of the GCC States.
