Dr. Jalal bin Mohammed Al-Owaisi, President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, affirmed that the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization’s celebration of its Golden Jubilee represents a commemoration of 50 years of humanitarian giving by the Organization and its member National Societies.
In his address at the ceremony, Dr. Al-Owaisi stated:
“These Arab humanitarian entities, despite the hardships and tragedies they face, continue to cooperate among themselves and work as one team to alleviate the pain of the wounded and those affected by crises and disasters.”
He addressed the presidents, secretaries-general, and representatives of the National Societies, saying:
“You have always been, and continue to be, the first supporters of the Arab Organization and the firm pillar of its coordinated humanitarian efforts.”
He further noted that the celebration of the Organization’s Golden Jubilee marks the beginning of a new phase—one aimed at overcoming the challenges of humanitarian work and redoubling efforts to ease human suffering.

He continued:
“We all know that the path of humanitarian work is fraught with many challenges. This compels us to elevate our performance to unprecedented levels, to strengthen Arab partnership in humanitarian action, and to affirm that the future of humanitarian work lies in investing in people first, equipping them with the latest technological tools of our time. Let us remember that every action and every effort is a beacon of hope in the realm of humanity; we must instill hope within people, and we aspire for this gathering to serve as a stronger and greater launchpad for humanitarian work.”
In conclusion, Dr. Al-Owaisi emphasized that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, guided by its humanitarian mission, has never hesitated to support and advance humanitarian endeavors. The Kingdom has always been present in every arena of humanitarian work, extending its generous helping hand to those in need across the globe. He recalled the Kingdom’s hosting of the Arab Organization since its establishment in 1975 and its continued support ever since—reflecting its commitment to humanitarian service under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister — may Allah protect them.
