The Medical Dispatch Center of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Eastern Region received 13,280 emergency calls through the emergency number (997) during October 2025. Of these, 2,190 were related to traffic accidents and 7,681 were medical cases. Additionally, 130 service requests were submitted via the “Asefni” mobile application. The total number of incoming calls handled by the Medical Dispatch Center during the same period reached 37,945 calls of various types.
From these reports, 10,232 emergency cases were directly attended to by the SRCA EMS teams across the Eastern Region. Medical emergency care was provided to 6,367 cases that were subsequently transported to hospitals within the region, while 3,865 cases received on-site medical care that did not require hospital transfer.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority continues to strive for shorter response times, emphasizing the importance of cooperation from car drivers by allowing ambulances the right of way during emergency operations and avoiding crowding or following ambulance vehicles, as such actions can hinder the teams’ work and delay their arrival to critical cases.
The Authority also reaffirmed the importance of requesting emergency medical services through 997 or via the “Asefni” application, which saves time and effort by providing precise location tracking of the caller facilitating faster dispatch of ambulance teams to the scene; wishing everyone continued health and safety.
