The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Makkah region announced its volunteer activity statistics for the third quarter of 2025, recording a total of 111,671 volunteer hours through 1,216 diverse volunteer opportunities.
These opportunities included providing emergency medical services to visitors of the Grand Mosque, Umrah performers, and worshippers in the holy mosque areas, in addition to participation in national events, international observance days, humanitarian initiatives, sports activities, and maritime programs. The efforts also involved organizing first aid training courses to qualify male and female volunteers.
The distribution of volunteer opportunities was as follows:
Jeddah: 580 opportunities
Holy Capital City of Makkah: 353 opportunities
Taif: 283 opportunities
During this period, the number of volunteers reached 19,078, including 9,232 male volunteers and 9,846 female volunteers, representing medical cadres and multiple specializations, most notably consultants, general practitioners, and emergency physicians.
The Authority affirmed its commitment to developing the capabilities of volunteers through specialized training programs and enabling them to carry out their roles in line with its humanitarian mission. It also continues to provide opportunities for community members to engage in volunteer work through its official platform, across various fields including health, humanitarian, sports, environmental, and awareness programs, thereby reinforcing the role of volunteering in serving society.
