The Saudi Red Crescent Authority signed an agreement with King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, represented by SRCA Assistant president for Shared Services, Eng. Yasir bin Tariq Al Rayes and the University represented by the Assistant Vice President of Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdulmohsen Alkushi, on the sidelines of the Authority's participation in the Global Health Exhibition 2024, held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center - Malham, from October 21 to 23, 2024.
The agreement outlines cooperation in preparing scientific research, studies, and reports, providing the necessary research requirements for researchers, proposing vital research topics, programs, and academic specializations. The university will also make its specialized laboratories and simulation facilities available to the Authority for conducting meetings and training programs. Additionally, the university will participate in evaluating applicants for positions at the Authority, including technicians and specialists, and will offer support in developing a "Field Training Officer" program and training Authority personnel through it.
The two parties also agreed that the university, within its capacity, will annually admit a specific number of Saudi Red Crescent personnel for skill development. The university will allocate 15 seats in its monthly forums for the Authority's doctors, specialists, and technicians. Moreover, the Authority will train 40 students annually from the Bachelor of Applied Medical Sciences program at various branches of the university, alongside ambulance teams for a maximum duration of 6 months per trainee. The university will also dedicate two seats annually in its postgraduate programs for Authority personnel.
According to the agreement, the Authority will provide field training opportunities for university students only in Riyadh. Both parties will present a list of available training and educational programs and their schedules, allowing each party to choose programs to enroll their personnel.
